July 4th was HOT, HOT, HOT! We were a party of 4 as we headed out to the club for some swim, play, sno cones, and BBQ. The club was full of familiar faces, so the girls had a great time playing with their friends, while we roasted in the sun or stayed in the water up to our earlobes with ours.
Our patriotic babies in their matching Carova fire station shirts
Daddy making some top of the line sno cones for his girls
Harper's matched her baby blues
Hadley worked on hers while Brent waited for his balloon sword to be made. I think they both wished they could have what the other one had. But the line was WAY too long to wait in that heat for a balloon!
Hadley LOVES to bounce...and Harper took her shoes off about 5 times to climb in, but chickened out every time. Maybe next year!
Way more her speed: Double-fisting!
Our All-American cutie
2 coolest sisters on the planet!
How is it that we got to be so lucky and wound up as their parents?!
A trip to the National Building Museum with our friends!
Going over the rules with Mama Karen before being set free to run and play
Sibling love!
Staring down the very pretty, but incredibly challenging mini golf course laid out in front of them
A little instruction by Mama Karen before getting started. It didn't really help...it was a free for all.
Perhaps we'll try another sport :)
On Saturday, Hadley had her classmate's 4th birthday at the National Zoo...on the hottest day on the planet! Thankfully the sweet birthday girl chose to keep most of it indoors. God bless her!
Saying hello to a nice llama on our trek to the Amazonia house. The steamy steamy Amazonia house!
Hadley was fascinated by the giant frogs, and was sad Granddmommy couldn't be there to enjoy her favorite animals!
Cool rain forest hat and even cooler giant sting ray!
Enormous Amazonian river fish
G-R-O-S-S! A beetle made out of lots of little beetles. ICK!
She begged me to take this picture, despite my dramatic protesting!
She doesn't get it from either of us, but perhaps she's a budding scientist!
Doubtful...
