December was an amazingly fun-filled, action-packed month of festivities for us! The best part was it involved lots and lots of family time, topped off with about 10 straight days at home together. With the temperatures steadily getting colder and colder as the month dragged along, we were more than happy to get creative while trying to stay warm!
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!
Wrigley's first dusting of snow. He was SO excited to check out what that was all about.
Time to trim the tree
Every year they help a little more...pretty soon Mommy and Daddy will just get to sit back and play DJ while the kiddos do all the work!
This guy was no help at all.
Lots of playdates with our besties, Livi and Brent
True love blossomed this month...oy
Super Mom, Mama KK, was the guest reader at the kids' first book club meeting!
Had's letter to Santa was so awesome. Our sweet girl only wanted a jump rope because she knew how many other kids really didn't have much of anything and she wanted Santa to focus on them!
We spent a quick weekend in PA to do a mini Christmas with Aunt Muffy and cousin Cameron. Shannon was not amused that Wrigley confiscated his favorite bone.
They had some serious snow up there so the girls got to sled and make snowmen!
Present time!
Aunt Muffy sobbed over a set of monogrammed towels because they reminded her of our Grandmommy's towels and she'd always wanted some of her own. Grandmommy, Granddaddy, and I all cried too, because it was just so darn sweet! The kids were all very confused...
Had's Holiday Performance at school! She had been practicing her line from Twas the Night Before Christmas for over a month...
It's tough waiting for your big moment.
NAILED IT!
Showing her besties her classroom
Mia, Ms. Steeb, and Hads
Our sweet Harper
Never ceases to crack us up!
Harper's Christmas Performance had her wringing some bells with her classmates!
From the safety and comfort of Ms. Kristen's embrace, of course
A trip to Capitol Hill to meet Daddy for lunch always means a stop by the old office to see our favorite babysitter, Christina.
And to get pampered by the Sam Johnson staff
The Nutcracker, with Anna and Livi!
Killing time before it starts hanging out by the White House. Lucky little girls to have this in their back yards!
They stood and whispered the whole time and loved every second of it!
Because they couldn't keep away, Grandmommy and Granddaddy popped down for a quick visit to take us to lunch and shower us with more gifts.
We loved it!
CHRISTMAS TIME!!
Christmas Eve service at church
Saying HI to baby Jesus
Harper's big moment...and I mean BIG! Up on stage playing hand bells in front of hundreds of people!
She was amazing!
Finishing off cookies for Santa
Christmas Eve tradition of opening pajamas from Mommy and Daddy
Time to get set up!
Twas the Night Before Christmas
Christmas Morning!!
Skelly family tradition of stockings on the bed
Time to see what else came in the night!
Jesus's Birthday Cake
The snow went away just as we acquired another puppy! Wrigley's sister, Izzy, came to stay with us for five days while her family went skiing. It was fabulous and chaotic at the same time.
And in the process, Wrigley officially outgrew his puppy crate :)
Family field trip to see a children's rock concert
An amazing secondary use for Wrigley's big crate!
Pooped puppies
The Griffin family bowling team dominated thanks to the ramp and the bumpers on the gutters!
And in the end, the best times were spent just the 4 of us + Wriggers, at home in our pajamas being silly and awesome together!
Because who needs a theme park when you've got two girls with the imaginations to make their own roller coaster?!
Bring on 2014!
