Harper went on her very first field trip in October to the grounds of a super crunchy private school called Burgundy Farms, that is home to animals and tons of vegetable gardens. We actually had taken a tour of this school back when Hadley was in preschool and were deciding what to do for her for Kindergarten. Aron was concerned that they would turn our children into hippies so it was a non-starter. Couldn't have agreed more, although the grounds are quite impressive! Birkenstocks are definitely the footwear of choice there. I got to be one of the chaperons and got to see the sheer joy on not only Harper's face, but the faces of all her little buddies who felt like such big kids for a day!
Posing with Finn, Savannah, and Sloan while we wait for the others to arrive
Hand in hand with Ms. Kirsten as we make our way to see the goats and donkeys
A girl among boys
Checkin out some chickens
Big discussions with Elliott about what their names might be
The smile that guaranteed my attendance at all future field trips.
The next one is in January and I was the first to sign up!
Mama needed to help Harper with the goat feeding since his aggressive tongue kept knocking her cup of grain out of her wee little hand.
A bunny, obviously
Over at the vegetable garden the kids went hunting for gourds.
Guess who got to carry it (along with those found by her friends) the rest of the trip?
The whole Shooting Stars class gang!
