Hadley's 6th Birthday!

Party time!!  Our big girl turned a whopping SIX years old last month and we can hardly believe it!  She's got all the spunk and sparkle of your typical 6 year old, with a little age appropriate sass and selective hearing mixed in.  While we are working on those last two, she still remains above and beyond one of the sweetest little munchkins we could have ever asked for!  Watching her grow this past year has been truly amazing...particularly watching her mind explode with ideas and creativity and learning.  She's just AWESOME!

To kick things off right, it was only natural that her favorite uncle fly clear across the country to be here to celebrate!

Fresh off the flight...and they never left his side from that point on.  I'm sure Uncle Chris LOVED waking up each morning at approximately 4:00 am, as far as his body was concerned, to one niece sitting on his chest and another standing an inch away from him.

This year's party was different than any she's had in the past.  She loved the idea of having a fancy little lunch with just a few buddies and their American Girl dolls.  So much so that when one little girl couldn't make it, Hadley felt no need to replace her with someone else.  It was perfect!

Settling in for lunch and making sure the dolls had their spots of tea as well.

Hadley and Harper received beautiful red dresses and their dolls were dressed to match, from their head bands down to their tights and shoes, courtesy of Grammy!

Granddaddy even skipped the Eagles game to be a princess for a day...talk about love!  That said, he, Aron, Chris, and I were keeping a close eye on the scores of our teams' games the whole time...which went completely unnoticed by the girls at the other end of the table who were having a ball and paying absolutely no attention to us!

The birthday girl was thrilled to see her favorite food was one of the options on the menu!

Toast time!

Cheers!

The big moment!
Such happy smiles...and the cake was delicious!  I could definitely get used to having someone else do all the prep, presenting, and cleaning!  I didn't even have to run out to get balloons...music to busy parents' ears :)

This was Harper's favorite part, of course...because there was also ice cream!

Later on that day it was up to the blacktop at Harper's school to show off our bike riding skills to Uncle Chris.

(with a little help from the big sister, of course)

These 3 sprinted back and forth about 100 times trying to race each other.  I particularly loved how tired out the girls were after this!

The morning of his departure...these girls are just so smitten with their uncle, and it's plain to see that he loves them back just as much!  If only we all lived a LOT closer...
