We're back! Spreading our winter cooties around has kept us quite preoccupied lately, but I am finally able to take a break from wiping noses to update you on what's been going on with the Griffin family these past 2 weeks.
Ingrid, or "Ingie," as Harper calls her, took a couple of days off the week before last to finally enjoy a short belated honeymoon with her husband. Grammy was more than happy to fly in and help take over as "nanny" on Wednesday and Thursday while I was at work. The girls were so excited to have her here, and so were we!
"Shhh, Mama!! Grammy doesn't know this yet, but Hadley and I are going to get her SOOOO sick, for the 3rd visit in a row!! We're lucky she loves us SO much!!"
Next month the annual Father-Daughter Princess Ball takes place and Hadley is already asking daily if it's today! This has now been escalated to sometimes multiple times daily after her dress arrived in the mail this week. She's going to be quite the show-stopper in this one:
With Grammy in town for the week of Valentine's Day as well, she got to come with us to Gymboree for a special Valentine's play date on Friday, with the proceeds going to our beloved Miss Casey's son's education fund.
Hadley was beyond thrilled to be given the green light to run around at Gymboree again!
Harper and Grammy playing with the tunnels
A very skeptical Harper keeps an eye on the instructor and Grammy keeps both hands on the girls as the air log begins to rock and roll.
Finally smiles from Harper after the song is over and the log comes to a halt! She was sold though, and they chose to stay on for two more songs when given the option to get off and play or go again.
Maraca time: Hands down Harper's most favorite part of Gymboree
Bubbles!
As the oldest child there, Hadley took it upon herself to go around and pop all the bubbles that had settled on all the munchkins' heads.
Unfazed by bubbles
As well as by the flying parachute
As Hadley nursed her parachute head wound, Harper got a goodbye kiss from Gymbo, which only slightly made up for the fact that she had to hand over her maracas first.
Saturday morning we said goodbye to Grammy and said hello to an ear infection. Harper was a MESS, and the only thing that made her stop crying was to be pushed in the swing outside. It was NOT a warm day, despite the beautiful sunshine.
While we have yet to hear from Grammy, who I'm sure has not gotten out of bed since she got home, I am happy to report that with 3 doses of Amoxicillin down and 17 left to go, Harper is already starting to feel better.
I can't wait for Spring!!
