Only the person with the smaller belly would suggest taking this picture! But as best friends, with two future best friends cooking inside, it did seem only fitting.
And then the next morning rolled around....and Harper Margaret Griffin joined us finally!
The picture I feared wouldn't happen with the months long ban on children in the hospital thanks to H1N1. Lucky for us it was lifted just in time.
Aunt Stephie came twice...perhaps in the hopes that her water would break and she could just cozy up in the bed next to us with Baby Girl Burt :)
Mommy's childhood friend, Kristy, came to visit and brought Hadley her own gift. Clearly she's a mother of two girls herself. Hadley was ecstatic!
Time to go home and face the music. No more nurses waiting on us hand and foot. Instead we had Gigi who put them all to shame with how much she did for us this week. Words cannot express the help and comfort she provided for us and the non-stop joy she brought Hadley!
We can only hope that proud big sister smile sticks around for a while. It's the sweetest thing to see it spread across her face when Hadley sees Harper.
And to show her appreciation for Hadley allowing her to come in and totally disrupt her life, Harper presented Hadley with her first tea set.

Congratulations Layton! So excited for y'all and to see pictures. I think she looks just like her Daddy :)
Hooray - what happy news!
So pleased for you all. Hadley looks like she's off to a great start as a big sister. Have a great end of summer getting to know Miss Harper. I wish Aron luck with that 3:1 ratio.
Congrats! She is such a pretty baby. So glad to hear that Hadley loves her little sis!
