Had's First Haircut!!

It only took 29 months, but Hadley finally got her hair cut. On top of our own anxiety (will her curls stay?!), there seemed to be A LOT of people who had a vested interest in Had's hair! Everyone from her family, to her friends, to her friends' moms, to her Gymboree teachers...we had the weight of the community on our shoulders. Some wanted just a trim, some wanted us to leave it the heck alone, and some wanted us to cut it ALL off and donate it to Locks of Love. In the end, we decided to cut about 4 to 5 inches off and leave it just below her shoulders. As predicted, it was a little traumatic for Hadley at first, but she quickly pulled it together and was singing to everyone in the salon and being SUCH a trooper about it.

Rocky start

"Please take this scary black thing off, Mommy!"

The brilliant stylist whipped out a lollipop for Hadley which instantly stopped the tears...

...momentarily.

Being a big girl and watching the mirror behind Mommy while the first snip takes place.

Not taking her eyes off the action for a second, while Mommy can't really watch.

Can you see the anxiety on Mommy's face?

Had's turn to be a little anxious as she realizes that her hair has actually been cut off.

All done...phew!

Checking to see if it tastes any different.

Who is that little girl? Very strange sight for us, as she's not really recognizable from the back!

Celebratory and well-earned Dairy Queen!

And THANK GOODNESS the curls are still there!!

What a big day - for everyone! :) Hadley is adorable with any length hair, but I'm glad you didn't go for the locks of love option!
