On Saturday afternoon we met our friend and favorite photog, Jan, at Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown for a family photo shoot. It was smack dab in the middle of Hadley's nap time, so while she started off full of energy and smiles, she faded rapidly around the 2 hour mark. Little did we know her temperature was on the rise...
Aunt Izzy came along to smile for some pictures and help keep Hadley looking at the camera for the pics with Mommy and Daddy.
Hadley woke up on Sunday with a fever and we questioned our original plan to drive down to Stribling Orchard and Linden Vineyards, but once the Tylenol kicked in and the fever broke, we decided to go for it. When we got to Stribling it ended up being closed, but we stopped to chat with a bull and a horse before heading to Linden.
The bull's violent head shake to shoo away the flies was not an ideal way to introduce himself to an already timid Hadley.
There was an actual scream of terror (first time we'd heard that) a death grip on my neck, and lots of tears after that.
Second try was a charm...and Daddy was there to lay down the law with the big bad bull in case he dared shake his head again. Poor bull, so many flies.
A very non-threatening horse
5th Annual trip to Linden: We return every year around our anniversary and buy a case to commemorate the occasion.
Lounging on the grounds just feet away from where Aron asked me to marry him. We sipped some wine and let Hadley run around before buying our case and hopping back in the car.
Hadley standing where there once was a picnic table, which was exactly where Aron so nonchalantly pulled a ring out of his pocket and popped the question.

I love the way you are bringing Hadley into yours and Aron's past special memories. That will be a fun event to continue as your family grows!
