K-Prep and a Gum Chewer

The morning of August 12th was a BIG one!!  Harper had been waiting approximately 364 days until the day came that she would be 3 and she would get to chew gum!  Not only that, but it was the day that we determined she was going to stop wearing pull ups, which was VERY exciting for Mommy.  AND, it was the first day of Hadley's week of Kindergarten Prep, which would involve taking the bus to and from school every day!

Things started early with the birthday girl bounding into our room demanding a piece of gum.  After being reminded of the "3 year old rule" for an entire year, there was no way we could turn her down.

Anxiously opening her first pack of gum...at 7:00 in the morning.

Chewing...and promptly swallowing.  This series happened 3 times total before we called it and went down for breakfast.

Soon after, we were all fed, dressed, and waiting excitedly at the bus stop for Hadley's first ride to her new school!

We thought it was funny telling the kids that this was their ride, but they didn't buy it for a second.

Here it comes!!

First one on and without fear!

Once she faded behind the tinted windows we high-tailed it to the car and sped like mad to make it to the school, park, and be there waiting to watch her get off the bus and file into school for the first time.  This was quite a scene considering all of the other parents were cruising around the neighborhood alongside of us as well!

Hadley was seated next to one of her besties, Mia, so they were both happy as can be.  And as it turns out they were both placed in the same class with the same K-Prep teacher for the official school year so we were all psyched!

Meanwhile, there was another first happening...

Harper has never had just a meal with Mommy and Daddy without Hadley in tow as well.  So we left Hadley at school and went about our day while Daddy went to work, and then we met back up again to take our big 3 year old out to a special lunch!

There were serious snuggles and eating up of the 2 on 1 attention

Then we raced home to watch a VERY excited Hadley (so excited she was almost out of the camera frame before I could get a picture) hop off the bus and tell us all about how much fun she had!
