On Saturday it was finally time for the birthday girl to celebrate her big 2nd birthday with all of her friends! Despite the unseasonably overcast weather that day, they all came out and jumped right in. And the best part was that we had 2 pools to ourselves, since the weather kept the other club members away. Couldn't have planned that if we tried!
The first 2 brave souls frolicking in the chilly water.
Clearly unaffected by their frozen bodies and just having fun!
Sweet "Ingie" and her husband, Devin, came by to celebrate Harper...who was soaking wet in this picture, which is why Ingrid isn't giving Harper her typical snuggles :)
Thawing out
Smooches
Mama KK doing what she does best
Warming up with Granddaddy
Because she just does this when she's so excited and she doesn't know what else to do!
Birthday hugs from Ro-Ro
4 year olds going on 16
Party time downstairs!
Post lunch/pre cake game of Pin the Flower on Dora's Bracelet
Dora cake, naturally.
It's too bad our family isn't more colorful...or CUTE! :)
Most kids jump into their birthday cake with reckless abandon.
Harper, on the other hand, has a serious conversation with Dora first.
Back home, post nap, present opening time
Topping the favorites: a super loud, totally awesome Dora guitar!
Hadley trying her best to be helpful and not snatch every toy and doll away from Harper
Harper and Hadley reenacting the scene from Cinderella where the step sister tries to squeeze her giant foot into Cindy's glass slipper
Not just any fairy wings. No, these LIGHT UP!
So cool!
You can't just throw leftover cake away, so the girls got to have seconds after dinner that night.
And of course we had to place the Dora figurines back around the pieces of cake.
Rainy afternoon activity: finger painting with Harper's new finger painting stuff from Mia and Ro Ro.
I was amazed that she jumped right in and agreed to get messy!
BUT, that didn't last long ;)
