The Rivah!

Mama KK invited us down to her family's river house this weekend!

It was a little slice of paradise, with perfect weather, gorgeous sunsets, fabulous friends and kiddos...and lots of yummy food and wine!

We drove down Friday afternoon, and after a quick dip in the river (made VERY quick on account of everyone getting stung by one mean jellyfish) and the pool, it was dinner and bed for the babies.

And then the real fun began:

Early morning slumber party with her besties, Livi and Anna

Sitting by the beach taking in the beautiful morning, Harper wanted on that sand so badly, so we stripped her down and let her explore.

Naked babies on the beach make for some REALLY cute pictures!

There are no words.

Imagine Papa Joel's surprise when he and Brent returned from their kayaking trip to find the beach had turned into a little girls nudist colony!

Skinny dipping ROCKS!

Safe and sound in Mama's arms while Papa Joel and Papa Kevin look for crabs and jellyfish

Giving Petey some love

Anna got in some big sister practice on a very accommodating little sister.

Kevin and Aron rigging the sailboat for KK and my spin around the harbor. It had been years since I had sailed, but it all came back and was so fun!

Quiet time...for everyone

The girls had a seriously different idea of how long quiet time should last, and they were back outside in less than 30 minutes.

Papa Kevin, also in need of some quiet time, was happy to just lay near a drastically less rambunctious kiddo.

Smooching Daddy by the river

The Relaxation Station!!

The kids were so curious watching Papa Kevin pull up the crab traps. They all agreed that crabs were stinky and disgusting and they were a little upset at the thought that were going to EAT THEM!

YUM

Walking the crabs up to the house to meet their doom

As the crabs were steaming and stomachs were starting to rumble, I had to actually go wake Harper up from her nap at 4:45 p.m.! Gotta love what an early morning swim and all that fresh air does to babies.

Not a bad way to gradually wake up from a nap

Juice box spectators while the daddies played horseshoes

What's Harper watching with such enjoyment??

Daddy playing badminton with Brenty

Our patriotic princess and some yummy steamed crabs

Drinks on the beach and some night fishing for our last evening at "the rivah"

Harper and I had the guest house to ourselves Saturday night since Aron and Hads moved into a vacant room in the main house. So when Harper woke up we were able to just roll outside without disturbing anyone and spend a little time snuggling by the water together.

Not a bad way to start the morning

And then the big kids were up...

I can't help myself!!

Take a look at those eyelashes!

This was supposed to be a Mother-Daughter kayak ride, but Hadley FREAKED out when I put her life jacket on, so it ended up being a solo journey. Quite enjoyable nonetheless.

"Yeah, see what you're missing, Had!?"

Finally using it for its intended purpose

Kevin fared far better with Anna when he suggested a spin around the harbor.

Fathers and their little girls

All bundled up and time to roll on home.
Hadley was very sad to leave, and can't wait to go back.
Next time I'm getting her in that kayak!
