Friday afternoon we bid a final farewell to sweet Kitty. At just 8 years young, Kitty suddenly became very ill, and after rushing her to the animal hospital it was determined that a blood transfusion, oxygen treatment, x-rays, ultrasounds, and countless tests would need to take place just to stabilize and determine what was ailing her. After agreeing to some of that, but not getting any closer to an answer, it was suggested that it might just be time. After a perfect bill of health at her physical a couple weeks ago and no strange behavior the day before, this caught us completely off guard. Needless to say, I cried and cried and eventually kissed and snuggled her tight while the doctor administered the drug that put her to sleep. Hadley was sad when Aron explained things to her while I was at the hospital, but thankfully the weekend passed without her bringing Kitty's absence up again. This might have happened at the perfect age for Hadley, all things considered.
Goodbye Kitty. We love you!

Kitty and Harper (4 months old)
But alas, the show must go on! Saturday morning Mommy may have woken up looking like she had cried ALL DAY LONG, but our little chef and her Daddy whipped up some yummy pancakes like they do every Saturday.

It was cooking week at school this week, so Hadley decorated her own apron and whipped up some chicken tenders, pizza, and hot dogs with her classmates.

And then it was off to the salon for her second ever haircut!!

Such a big girl in the shampoo chair, but not too happy about it.

Forcing a smile smirk for Daddy

Overall, she's not a big fan of getting her hair cut, if you can't tell.

No turning back!
HAHAHAHA, Mommy is so happy to not have to wrestle the knots out of her hair every morning anymore.

The only downside to getting her hair cut is that it seems to age Hadley instantly!
Where did our little girl go!?

Proudly showing off her Snow White "college" (cottage) reward for being a big girl at the salon.

Burning off a little steam and soaking up some fresh air at the Pit before her buddy Anna's dance party birthday party!

We still needed some cheer to keep our moods up, so I dusted off a couple pairs of my father's old Lilly Pulitzer pants and it was decided that we were going to Anna's party in style! I did mention this to Mama KK, who also happened to have some of her Daddy's pants laying around, and who personally owns more Lilly clothing than anyone I know. So they agreed to join in the theme with us!

Our little dancing fool and her super bouncy blowout from the salon made quite an impression on the dance floor.

I mean, check out that bounce! She needs a shampoo commercial contract.

Learning the chicken dance

You can't tell because of the camera's flash, but the lights were out, the disco ball was spinning overhead and all the kiddos were rocking glow bracelets and necklaces and dancing to a parent-friendly mix of hip-hop and Top 40!

CAKE!

LOOK WHO'S 7 MONTHS OLD!!!

GIMME A KISS!
MUAH!
