Snuggling the tears away with Granddaddy
After 3 sleepless nights and soaring fevers, we packed up and left Grandmommy and Granddaddy's house yesterday before the turkey was even carved. It had become clear to us that if anyone was going to ever sleep again Hadley and Harper needed to get to their doctor and figure out what was going on FAST. This cold we'd all picked up had seemed to mutate into something purely evil! It was tough leaving Grandmommy crying in her garage waving goodbye to us, but we'd gotten her sick already and we needed to remove the Griffin cooties before we did any more damage. And thank God we did. As it turns out, Harper has an ear infection and Hadley has a sinus infection!! So while Harper still seems to require round the clock snuggling after a day on antibiotics, there is hope now that soon both of our girls will be back to their happy healthy selves again. And it wasn't a total loss. Aron and Hadley found a grocery store that was open and he whipped up a mini Thanksgiving meal for the two of us, complete with turkey breast, stuffing, roasted potatoes, and cranberry sauce! And Mama Karen personally delivered two heaping servings of homemade apple cobbler :)
