It's safe to say that since Hadley never had to make the traumatic journey through the birth canal, yesterday was the most traumatic day of her life! And even if she had, it would still go down as the most painful, by far! And that goes for Mom too. Long story short, I brought her in for a quick "peace of mind" check because she'd had 3 really fussy nights in a row, which is rare for her. Certain it was just gas from an over consumption of yogurt on my part, we went in to get checked out. When her temperature read 101.2 they realized gas was the least of our problems and decided to do a full work up on her. This involved a catheter to get a urine sample (something I had gone 30 years before having to have...and that was because I had a c-section!) and 5 attempts at drawing blood. It is hard to tell who was crying more, mom or Hadley. It was the saddest scene I'd ever seen, and by the deep shade of purple Hadley turned from screaming the whole time, it was no picnic for her either. The two hour visit ended with one last stab to the thigh of antibiotics to hold her over until today when we came back for the results. It turns out, oddly enough, that she has a urinary tract infection. Thankfully the meds worked like a charm over night and she woke up after a great night of sleep feeling like a new woman. Little does she know, we have to do all of that, plus a sonogram, again next week at the hospital to get to the root of why this happened and what the likelihood is of this happening again in the future. My poor baby!

Oh my gosh, that must have been so hard for both of you! I'm so glad she's feeling better. Poor thing!
